I bought this in May 2009 to replace an older WD model with a smaller capacity (160 GB)
As small black boxes go it will not win any design awards. However, it does exactly what I bought it for: store multiple media files reliably. I use mine connected to a powered hub so that I can connect it to different machines. It was easy to set up and use with no problems.
Note that it doesn't have an off-on button so depending on how your kit is set up you may find it is on when you don't need it.
