Bought one of these last week. I immediately plugged it into my Linux server and reformatted it to Ext3 with no problems. Mounts as a filesystem during boot-up once set-up in fstab.
Well worth purchasing and an easy upgrade for PCs that either can't take another internal hard disk, or are older and have PATA (EIDE) connections rather than SATA (PATA 1TB disks are prohibitively expensive!)
