This is my 3rd Western digital external hard drive and is by far the best. Previously I had the 'My Book' Range, this 'elements' HD is excellent. Easy to set up and use, transfer rate is acceptable for USB 2.0 and is much smaller and quiester than previous HDs.
I use it mainly for holding TV and film files, the 1TB of space gives you a new sense of freedom about how much data you can have. Previously I used two external HDs (250GB each) and switching to one large HD is much better. My computer load time is also slightly improved!
Once formatted my HD says it has 931.28GB of space. The time for a selected file to play is almost instant. The only negative I can find is that the included USB cable is a bit too short. Great external HD, if I run out space, I would definately buy another. Get more detail about Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Black.
