Read all of the other reviews and the WD external hard drive came out about tops. Discarded my old 320gb maxtor hard drive which failed after 2 years and plugged in the new Western Digital. PC recognised it straight away. After a quick format from FAT32 to NTFS it was up and running recieving data from my PC, allbeit the transfer rate is not quite as high as the Maxtor but still great value for money.
