I've been having no trouble with this great little well built and low temperature little unit, but i just plugged it it and the adapter popped loudly and gave me a small (guessing 12v) electric shock. So now the drive doesn't power up.
Pulled the rubber end caps off to get a better look at everything and it pulled the back plate off as well splitting the warranty sticker in half.
"Well ive come this far" i thought, so pulled the drive out and no have to use it with a powered usb to sata converter.
Result: Annoyed but oh well :(Get more detail about Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Black.
