This drive is a bit slower than some others but it makes up for this by being:

It is also a basic drive, no fancy read / write and power LED lights except on the rear where you wouldn't normally look for it and then you only get one.
There is also no power switch. You just plug it in and go. You also don't get backup software but you do get all leads including the USB and power leads (including PSU#.
The drive is reliable and quiet and you get a capable drive housed in a suitable chassis. It's simple and efficient.
I recommend this external drive if you just want a functional and large hard drive #1TB) for your laptop / MacBook, you can't go wrong for the money as it does exactly what's it supposed to do an no more.
