I already have 250GB and 500GB WD Elements drives but my burgeoning media collection demanded more space so I purchased this 1TB drive. Like the others, it's cool, quiet, cheap and hopefully, as reliable. I reformatted to NTFS and just leave it running, it powers up when you turn the computer on and shuts down when you turn it off. N.B. there's no power on/off switch.
Windows reported file transfer speeds of 16 - 17 MB per second, which is about 1GB per minute.
