At first I was very pleased with it. Having invested a very long time and effort transferring masses of data to it, the power supply has failed. In the search for a replacement power supply I find that many forums are also criticizing the fact that their power supplies have also failed and that it is impossible to replace them. As I have confidential data on the disc and cannot re-format it, returning the HDD for a replacement is not an option. I have ordered an external HDD case along with power supply (at an additional £22) in the hope that the disc is in good working order. I cannot understand how a supposedly reputable company like WD can supply what are clearly unreliable power supplies without easy provision for replacement once the problem is identified.
