Plugged it into the mains, stuck the USB into it and the back of the Mac, Time Machine recognised it, did the stuff and I've never thought about either of them ever again. If it came in a tin that said "I will quietly and efficiently back up your iMac without you ever having to think about it or do anything at all" then I'd happily quip that it does what it says on the tin.
